Story
I have been involved with CRY since 2002. As their first research fellow, I was involved in screening healthy individuals both from the athletic and non athletic population and published original research. I worked with bereaved families who had lost young relatives to sudden cardiac death. The experience I gained over those first few years allowed me to develop an understanding of the conditions causing sudden death and my passion for the CRY's mission grew. I am privileged to be one of the CRY Trustees and hope I can raise £5000 for the charity by completing this rather long stroll in London!
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk .
