7 ½ years ago we found out that the yet-to-be born Jay Sharma would enter the world as a little boy with a severe heart condition. In 2012 I’ll be joining him on his biggest adventure yet and climb to the summit of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain at 4403 feet. He’ll be doing this to raise as much money as he can for his favourite charity Heart Link (http://www.heartlink-glenfield.org.uk/).
Heart Link and the fabulous staff of the Leicester Glenfield’s specialist paediatric congenital heart disease ward, supported and guided Jay and all his family through 5 years of regular visits and 3 complex and lengthy heart operations. Two years on since his last operation, he is now ready to give something back. By climbing to the summit of Ben Nevis, Jay will be amongst one of the youngest people on record to get there, and possibly one of the first with his congenital condition. He is planning the climb after April 2012 once the weather starts to improve. Anyone who knows Jay knows he is one of the bravest and happiest boys ever.
Please dig deep. He has an ambitious target and will make sure he gets there. Thank you.
