Story
I believe the greatest reward in life is Giving. I am blessed enough to have a loyal following on Twitch. I will like to use this opportunity to help fund-raise for a good cause.
I believe in Action for Children vision because every child should have the tools to reach their potential. Just because a child has gone through an incredibly difficult situation does not mean they do not deserve the love, support and opportunity to reach their potential. Growing up in East London I know how difficult achieving this can be.
here is a little story about where our donation goes and helps a kid like:
Six year old Joe from Oxford, who is living with a cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), has always loved superheroes, his favourites being Spiderman and Iron Man. So when Make-A-Wish asked what his ultimate wish would be, he chose to have a superhero bedroom makeover...
The makeover was completed in just two days, and when the room was unveiled, Joe opened the door to find a bedroom filled with all his favourite characters!
Joe’s Mum, Tracey, said: “Make-A-Wish did something for my boy that I couldn’t – they made his bedroom makeover wish come true. Double Helix, who carried out the makeover on behalf of Make-A-Wish, were so professional and the whole experience has been amazing.”
Commenting on his bedroom, Joe said: “It’s brilliant – I was really excited the night before and now I spend most of my time in my superhero room!”
Joe was born with the rare condition AVM for which, sadly, there is no treatment. The vessels in his brain formed as a mass of large veins, which could burst at any time. Joe’s situation is especially rare – in most cases the vessels are the size of a ten pence piece, but Joe’s AVM is four or five times bigger than this.
Tracey commented: “We take each day as it comes as we don’t know what the next will bring. We have to be very careful that Joe doesn’t bang his head, but we live by the philosophy that each day is a special day. The makeover was a really special day – the best moment was seeing the happiness on Joe’s face when the room was unveiled.”
