We raise money to support Gateshead Health to enhance the care to our patients

Story

I am climbing Ben Nevis at the end of August with my old work colleagues (CHUF) and have decided to raise money for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Charitable Funds, for their breast cancer surgical division to say thank you for the help provided by all to my mam.

My mam was first diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago treated by the Queen Elizabeth, followed by a secondary cancer diagnosis recently . The Queen Elizabeth have always provided and continue to provide fantastic treatment to my mam, with all staff members going the extra mile. A special thank you to everyone , particularly consultant surgeon Kevin Clark , breast care nurse Caroline Buchanan, nurse practitioners , and the perioperative theatre  staff members, from health care assistants, to anaesthetic ODPs , anaesthetists and wider nursing team who really helped to make my mam feel at ease through this difficult time. Any money raised will be donated specifically  to the breast cancer surgical/theatre service towards resources for breast cancer surgery which helps to save thousands of lives each year.

Thank you <3
