After communicating with Alice and the team at Tilinanu for only a short period of time, I already know that they've created a place built on passion, selflessness and love.  My goal is to spend some time in Malawi at Tilinanu, working with the kids to assist them in reaching their full potential.  I would be honored to go and be a part of such an incredible organization, and hope that with your support, that dream will become reality.

I am a 16 year old student from Canada with a passion for service and an insatiable appetite for adventure! I have accelerated my education to allow me 6 months to travel and help wherever I can, before pursuing my post-secondary education in Classical Voice next year.  After completing thousands of volunteer hours on a local level, I feel the need to contribute on a more global scale.  Luckily, I came across Tilinanu and have since made it my primary goal to go and help there.  I have a strong passion for music and am in love with the power that lies in it.  Music is a universal language that transcends all boundaries, and I feel blessed to have had it play such a large role in my life thus far.  My time in Lilongwe would consist of sharing this love through music and collaborating with the kids through music education, which is in my opinion, a very vital aspect of childhood development. 

I am also a certified yoga teacher, hoping to specializing in yoga for kids.  I would hope to integrate the physical aspects of a yoga practice into the lessons I would teach, allowing the children to have new experiences that they might otherwise never have the opportunity to.  Yoga has made such a profound impact on my life, and I only hope to share with others what it has done for me.

My intention is based on selfless action and giving back.  I feel so privileged to be offered this opportunity.  For as much as I will offer some of my knowledge and experiences with the kids, I do believe that they will be some of my greatest teachers.
