Edinburgh Moonwalk 2010
Fundraising for Walk the Walk
A few months back an old pal e-mailed me to ask if I fancied joining a team to do the Edinburgh Moonwalk this year. I didn't think twice and signed up immediately. Walking a few miles for a good cause, it seemed an obvious choice. I was planning to run a marathon this year so walking one couldn't be that difficult could it?!
That was until the injuries started! I had to postpone my London marathon ambitions until next year due to a rather nasty injury, so I'm determined to walk that marathon this year, even if it kills me! Doing it for such a good cause will help I'm sure. And wearing a fair-isle bra and pink tutu I'm hoping will keep me smiling even if the old injuries start to play up half way through!Breast cancer has had an effect on most of our lives at some point. The mams, grannies, sisters, aunts, etc. who fight this disease are incredibly strong women. If you've watched someone get through their treatment- the sadness, tiredness, hair-loss, surgery, etc- and seen them come out the other side still able to smile at everything and enjoy life to the full you'll know what I mean. So, get sponsoring and encourage us. We'll be completing a 26 mile power walk through the streets of Edinburgh, not only that but we'll be doing it overnight while most are tucked up in their cosy beds. Help to support all the women we know who are living with breast cancer. Thanks!* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
