Story

Hi everyone,

Thanks for visiting Nicka & Jet’s just giving page. As many of you know, we have got together to run the Great Bristol Half Marathon to raise as much money as we can for PAPYRUS, a charity which works tirelessly to prevent suicide amongst young people. It’s a cause really close to our hearts as we lost our friends Raj and Jatt last year with Jet's cousin Gino sadly passing away in 2019. This run will very much be in their loving memory.

“Raj Shinji, the realest of lads, the top man. A son, brother, uncle, and dear friend to so many. There will never be anyone as real, never afraid to speak his mind and passionately defend those close to his heart. A passionate football fan and coach who travelled the world following Manchester Utd and England. If you knew him, you would have heard his mighty roar but also seen his gentle side, much like the fierce jungle king. We will always remember him as LION” . Nicka

“Jatt was one of the strongest people I knew. He had a heart of gold, and his loyalty was second to none. He was always the life and soul of that party and drew in a crowd wherever he went. There was never a dull moment when in Jatt’s company and his cheeky laugh was contagious. Despite his extrovert personality, Jatt had very complex situations in his personal life that led him to turn to alcohol, which ultimately cut his life short. I believe that had he been given the support that PAPYRUS provide, he may still be with us today. Since he passed away, not a day goes by where I do not think about him”. Jet

“Gino was my younger cousin and whilst admittedly living far away from one another meant I didn’t know him too well - since his life was cut short I have since learned what a great brother, son and uncle he was. Seeing the tributes flooding in at his funeral showed he still had plenty to give.” Jet

Whilst circumstances were very different for all three, the impact of their deaths will be long lasting for everyone who knew and loved them. Suicide amongst young people is on the increase and we want to do our part to ensure young people at risk of suicide are given the help and support they need to tackle the challenges in life.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will literally save lives.
