Story

We did it!  We swam 'The Channel' on Friday 26th July in 11 hrs 54 minutes and 30 seconds.  Thank you to everyone who kindly suported us by sponsorship or donations to Great Ormond Street Hospital.  We are still happy to accept donations!

Two of us, Jasper and Jake are both in Year 11 at Dr. Challoner’s Grammar School.  Alastair is at Southampton University and Marcus is at Birmingham University.  We are all swimmers at Chesham Swimming Club and have a great team spirit between us.  We are aiming to complete a relay channel swim between 29 th July and 6 th August 2013 to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.  We wanted to do this as Jasper has been a patient there and they helped him greatly when he was younger.

We would be grateful for any kind donation towards this very worthwhile charity to help us raise as much money as possible for G.O.S.H.

We hope it will not be too cold and that there are not too many tankers and jelly fish in our way! Thank you so much for any donation you are able to give. Other donations received so far offline £3858.93 included in page total.

Jasper, Jake, Alastair and Marcus

We would like to thank the very generous and kind companies and individuals who have kindly sponsored this event by covering the costs or helped us in some way so that we are able to raise funds for G.O.S.H.  Our thanks go to:- Bell Pottinger Group, Komixx Entertainment, CEMS ltd, Flaunden Parish Council, Gayhurst School, Volvo Cars North London, Prestige Press, Manor Signs, Chesham Open Air Pool, Chesham Swimming Club, Maltmans Green School and the other private businesses and individual sponsors who have also generously contributed.  Without you all we would not have been able to do this.  Thank you so much from Jasper, Jake, Alastair and Marcus.
