Story
Hi I'm Jasper,
On 12 May I will be doing my first ever sponsored walk for LED who provide solar lights, essential healthcare and education to remote mountain communities in Nepal and Peru.
OK, I'm a dog, dogs like walking; so what's the big deal? Well, my kind are prone to joint problems so my owners have been super careful to ensure that I don't walk too far before I'm fully grown; 15 miles will be way further than I've ever walked before. Added to that, I get carried away with enthusiasm and like to say hello to everyone with four legs and two; so my real mileage will be at least double. I'm now in training and as a Cumbrian lad I have started to collect my Wainwrights (I even have my own map to tick them off!)
So why LED? Well, many years ago my owner had a wee (!) mishap in the Himalayas and without the help of Val, the founder of LED, and the local Nepalese it would not have been a happy ending. So please sponsor me and help me to say a huge thank you by helping these wonderful people access basic services that we take for granted.
Personally I think that sausages are the best donation (cumberland of course!) but I've been told that won't do and human money is required instead. So, if you can spare a £ or two, please help. LED is staffed by volunteers so all the money raised goes to those who need it.
Thank you, Jasper x
