On the 24th of May I am going to attempt to walk non-stop from London to Brighton in around 28 hours in aid of The Lullaby Trust.

As most of you will be aware I have attempted to do some kind of endurance event on an annual basis, in aid of charity, in recent years.

This year however it is going to be different.

Last summer one of my colleagues suffered a terrible tragedy. Her two year old little boy, Max, died in his sleep. His death had a huge impact on everyone that knew the family and no less so than with her friends and colleagues within our company. This terrible event had everyone feeling sad and also helpless, after all what can you do…….. or say when a tragedy like this occurs.

Later last year we were considering how to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Crabtree Property Group, which would be in 2014. After talking to staff and Max’s mum, we decided to mark our anniversary by raising £30,000 for The Lullaby Trust, a charity which supports families who have lost a child and funds research into Sudden Infant Death.

Rather than organise one single event we decided to organise a number of events to take place throughout the year. Everything from raffles, bake sales, come dine with me, table tennis tournaments, singles nights, murder mystery dinners, poker nights and even sponsored beard growing. These events are either in the pipeline or have already happened. In addition we are organising three major fundraising challenge events across the year.

A Walk: the London To Brighton Walk with I hope you will support me in doing.
A Run: A 5/10K Fun Run and Fun Day in September. This event will be open to friends and family and I hope some of you might consider getting involved.
A Jump: A skydive featuring around 10 of our daredevil staff in September.

By doing all of the above we hope to raise £30,000 for a very deserving charity that is very close to home.
