The AHOY work with disadvantaged children, young vulnerable people and those with disabilities. They offer them the opportunity to learn new skills along with the AHOY running courses and programmes to train them to gain qualifications and life skills needed for employment.

Story

"The three keys to more abundant living: caring about others, daring for others, and sharing with others". William Arthur Ward

In March this year, myself and five other crew members started our training to row across the Channel this summer.

The money we raise will go to the Ahoy Centre in Deptford, which uses rowing and sailing as a medium to help disadvantaged and disabled children. Their activities bring hope to these children by giving them a common purpose.

Our target is to raise £12000. Ambitious I know. But, having witnessed the wonderful efforts of the volunteers at the Ahoy, I think that it is a more than worthy cause.

Please help us reach our target by donating even the smallest amount.

Our progress so far:

6th March - Our first attempt on the Thames on what we were later told was one of the coldest and windiest days on the Thames. Being our first outing, we were taken through the most important safety aspects of rowing and then given a taster of what was involved.
