Announcing my plans to run in this year’s London Marathon………..I know, before you say it - Why?!

 

Well, some of you may know that my mother passed away at a very early age and I have been committed to raising funds for cancer charities in recognition of the help and support my family received during that very difficult time. I completed the London Marathon in 2009 and raised a considerable amount of money for the Marie Curie cancer charity.

 

This year I have agreed to run the London Marathon on the 17^th April 2011 to raise funds for CLIC Sargent. The goal is to raise as much money as possible to support this charity that does some great work with children that are suffering from this terrible illness. Every day in our country 10 families are told their child has cancer. As the UK's leading children's cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is the only organisation to offer them all round care and support:

During treatment - by providing specialist nurses, play specialists, and ‘homes from home’

In hospital & at home – offering specialist social care and support in the community, services for young people, holidays, grants and a helpline

After treatment – helping survivors and supporting those bereaved.
