Story
Our wedding is an invitation only event and we look forward to seeing you there to celebrate together!
Firstly in the place of requests for gifts or honeymoon funds we’ve chosen to honour the memory of those who can’t be with us by setting up this just giving page for anyone who can & would like to donate towards Macmillan Cancer Care. It is a charity that resonates with both our hearts which is why this is an option in place of the more traditional gifts.
Really though, the best gift is you being with us to celebrate our first day of marriage.
Everything is happening at The Old Rectory in Hastings Old Town. Please see the finer details here
Parking is difficult in the area and there is no parking at the Old Rectory, so please car share, walk or use public transport where you can. Please get in touch with one of us if you have other difficulties as we'll do our best to work something else out.
If you want to pop to Hastings for some lunch before the Ceremony (or to nab an excellent parking space early) there are some rather lovely restaurants and watering holes near The Old Rectory in George Street in the Old Town if you want to explore or you can ask either of us if you’d like any recommendations.
If you have been invited for the entire day and evening, our Ceremony starts at 3pm. Please arrive in good time so that you can get to know each other and find a comfortable place to sit with a lovely view. We’ll be having a meal and drinks from around 5pm, and you can choose whether to loiter near the food or take a seat somewhere around the house or garden. There are no seating arrangements for guests so please sit wherever takes your fancy at the time.
If you’ve been invited for the Reception please come along from 7.30pm to join us for our opportunistic speeches and our lovely wedding cakes made by our friend Kaye Smith at around 8, with our fabulous DJ Rich Dennett starting afterwards. We politely request that children have left the building by 9pm as there’s unlikely to be anywhere for your cherubs to sleep soundly and we can’t take any responsibility for any damage they may inflict on your already poor head the next day due to being overtired.
Please RSVP to either the Bride & Groom or to any of our Bridesmaids or The Best Man by the 1st November 2012 so that we can make sure we have plenty of frolics and fun available for everyone. (We’d also prefer not to send our Bridesmaids out heavy, flanking our best man bailiff style to get this show on the road if you don't mind.) But so you know who our fabulous team of favourites are prior to our day we’d like to introduce and thank in advance (in no particular order of brilliantness);
The Mother of the Bride, Charlie
The Mother of the Groom, Sharon
The Father of the Groom, Paul
The Best Man, Wilko
The Maid of Honour, Fiona & Bridesmaids Hayley & Vanessa
