Tactical Supply Wing is a small highly specialised unit within the Royal Air Force.  Our role is to provide aviation fuel support to Battlefield Helicopters.   We build, operate and maintain Battlefield Helicopter refuel sites and specialise in expedient 'Rotors Turning' Refuelling to all Rotary Winged assets.  Members of Tactical Supply Wing are currently deployed worldwide in support of both UK and Coalition Operations and Exercises.  When not deployed, Tactical Supply Wing personnel can often be seen partaking in various fundraising events in aid of local and national charities.

Several members of Tactical Supply Wing are partaking in the Adidas Thunder Run 24Hr.  This is a 24 hour endurance event open to teams of runners.  The challenge is to run a 10km course between team members as many times as possible in 24 hours.  The run is open to all and can be undertaken in pairs or teams of five or eight.

In order to make this challenging event event tougher, the eight competing Tactical Supply Wing personnel are tackling this in two squads of four whereby each runner will complete approximately 80km (50 miles) each.  To add further difficulty, they will be running in boots, wearing military uniform and carrying 35lb bergens on their backs.  This represents a major undertaking for even the fittest of athletes.

Our chosen charity,  Help for Heroes,  supports those serving members of HM Armed Forces wounded in conflicts whilst on operations.
