Story
I am once again taking on the London Marathon in an effort to raise money for the Institute of Cancer Research - a truly outstanding organisation that leads the way in cancer research and the development of treatments.
In 2019, I fulfilled a life-long ambition in completing the marathon, and thanks to so many generous donations, I raised over £16,000 for the charity, which was, undoubtedly, one of the most satisfying achievements of my life.
I have lost both of my parents in recent years to the awful, complex disease that is cancer. My mum passed away in 2013 following a 10-year battle with breast cancer, and my dad lost his fight earlier this year after being diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer. They were 60 and 70, respectively, both full of life and gone too soon.
However, without the incredible work carried out by organisations such as ICR, their battles would have been far shorter and they would not have experienced some of the priceless moments they were able to during their time of treatment.
Not a day goes by when I don't think of them and I will be taking on this gruelling but brilliant challenge in their memory.
Any donation, large or small, is massively appreciated and all donations will be sent direct to the charity in a fast and secure way. Its efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity. Thank you so much for your support!
