Story
My sister-in-law Helen was diagnosed with MND last year. You can read about Helen in her article for The Guardian:

or in her excellent and acerbic blog:

MND means that, most unfairly, Helen can no longer cycle around London. I'm grateful I still can, so James (Helen's brother) and I are riding the London NightRide for her.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a fatal, rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and the spinal cord. It attacks the nerves that control movement; people can still think and feel, but their muscles no longer work. It kills six people every day in the UK, a third within 12 months of diagnosis and more than half within two years.
Your donation to the MND Association will fund either research into finding the causes or a cure for the disease or support for somebody diagnosed with it. Every donation makes a difference to a person living with MND.
The Nightrider Challenge is a 100km ride through the streets of London - starting at 11pm on Saturday 9th June. So as well as the distance, there'll be the challenge of staying awake!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
