Story
I lost my Mum (TraceyLeggett) to cancer in July 2012 after she battled it long and hard for over 10Years. I was only 7 at the time she passed away. The help and support Ashgate Hospice offered me, and my Dad was fantastic, and we are so lucky (in one way Isuppose) that we have this facility on our doorstep.
I know my mum was only there for a few days (she was admitted to Ashgate on the
Tuesday and passed away on the Friday), but nothing was too much trouble for my
Mum, Dad or myself. They are extraordinary people and so kind.
They are just a phone call away and there is always someone there to listen and
help you through. I know they helped me through the toughest time of my young
life so far.
In May 2017 we receivedthe devastating news that my Mum’s best friend from her schooldays Andrea …(shown on the right in this photograph of the two of them) lost her own brave battle with cancer.
Any money that I raise will go into my Mum’s tribute fund (in memory of both Mum and Andrea) to help Ashgate Hospice continue the fantastic job that they do.
You never know when you might need their help...
Thank you for reading my story Elise Leggett xxx
