Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you who know me are aware, my father David Hill died in March last year from Melenoma Cancer. In the last 8 weeks of his life he was cared for by the staff of St Annes Hospice in Newport. The loving care we all recieved was second to none in a calming enviorment, I say we because the team at St Annes looked after us all fantastically during this difficult time, nothing was too much trouble for mum, me and my brother Darran. St Annes is free to anyone from Gwent and is the only In Patient facility in the whole area.
St Annes costs approximatley 1.25 million every year to provide this care of which only about 415 thousand is provided through WAG and Health Board funding, leaving the fund raising team a massive task year in year out to ensure the Hospice stays open. www.stanneshospice.org.uk
As such I have agreed to run the London Marathon!!!!! Why didn't I volunteer to see how many pies I could eat in a day. This is the first time I have run a marathon and getting motivated to train, especially in these damp dark days is proving to be difficult. However I will get there.
I need to raise £2000 so this is where you come in, I know times are hard but if you can find a minimum of £10 that would be fantastic. £10 is 2.5 pints or 2.5 large glasses of wine just in case some of you were trying to justify the spend.
