Story
I'm lucky. Neither I nor my family have yet been directly affected by cancer. But I know many who have. And I've seen how devastating it can be. I've also seen how courageous and brave and inspirational people can be when faced with cancer. To beat cancer requires help. That's where The Christie charity comes in.
The Christie charity is aiming to raise £23 million for the proposed construction of a new centre in Macclesfield where Christie patients will be able to receive outstanding cancer care, closer to home.
To help make a dent in this huge target, Robbie Cross, Gavin and I were planning to cycle from London to Paris in the hope of persuading kind people like you to donate money towards this good cause. We were going to start in London on 12th August 2020, riding 320 miles over 4 days - that’s approximately 80 miles a day.
However, that was before COVID. It just doesn’t seem right or safe to do the ride now, but we’d still like to do something to raise money for The Christie. So, we’re going to cycle the same distance and the same elevation from London to Paris, but do it around Cheshire and neighbouring areas, returning home after each day of cycling.
To enter the original event I needed to raise at least £1610 - and I'm going to stick with that as my target!
Please help me to raise as much money as possible.
Thank you so much, on behalf of everyone who benefits from the amazing work done at The Christie!
