Story
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Like so many others who have lost family, I was first impacted by cancer when my father in law passed away aged only 61. The lives of everyone who knew him were that bit poorer because of his passing and I just remember how much he enriched peoples lives with his kindness and wealth of knowledge and understanding. He would have been a mentor to us all even now.... Over the following years I have gradually seen more and more people around me have their life or their loved ones changed by cancer.
We have made so many wonderful advancements in medicine and so often (including in the case of cancer treatment) these have been life saving . I have on a few occasions now undertaken various challenges over the 10 years that we have partnered with Macmillan in order to raise money for their critical work but having now reached the landmark age of 50, I felt that now was the best time to really undertake a challenge that I know will require a much higher degree of personal time and commitment than I have ever given before. The Marathon I know will be a real personal challenge but I really hope by doing this that I can make a positive difference in my own small way.
Thank you so much for reading this and for supporting me and Macmillan with this effort.
