Story
Hi and Thank You for visiting my page!
I have never been a particularly active person due mainly from having 2 discs removed from my lower back. This contributed to my having to have my left hip replaced. Following years of pain and discomfort it was discovered that the hip had not been fitted correctly so I had to have the procedure repeated 2 years ago. Now pain free and with my mobility restored I am enjoying being able to walk long distances again.
I signed up to walk 55 miles over 4 days along historic and challenging terrain in Normandy in May 2020 to raise money for veterans, service men, women and their families. However due to Covid this was postponed to October 2020, then May 2021. It was then moved to October 2021 and to walk The Western Front. The Royal British Legion offer lifelong support to those who need help, and I am keen to take on this challenge to do my part in supporting their work.
In case you're not familiar with the variety of work that The Royal British Legion undertake it's surprisingly varied but most importantly they care for the whole family of those affected by the impact of service life. They help to ensure the highest quality of care for those suffering physical and metal issues and help families that need time to reconnect. Your donation will mean the legion can ensure the best quality rehabilitation and support for all.
Despite the cancellations, I have remained determined to complete this fundraising effort. I am close to reaching my target and really appreciate your support and good wishes - it encourages me to train hard and try my hardest to help those that have sacrificed so much. Please be generous.
