Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I have decided to take part in the following events in support of The Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
Glasgow Kilt Walk - 27th April
Edinburgh Full Marathon - 25th May
Beat the Borders - 30th August
Highland Perthshire Marathon - 6th September
Loch Ness Marathon - 28th September
Great Scottish Run - 5th October
As some of you may be aware or for those that are not, I have a Son named Mason who was born on the 5th January 2009. Due to unknown complications he was born with severe brain damage. Mason has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. This means that he has no use of any of his limbs, he can't speak and he is also registered blind.
Mason is a happy wee guy who gets the most out the restricted life that he has. However in November 2011, Mason had a near death episode. His seizure activity had increased and his body stats had dropped to a level so low that the Doctors thought he would not make it through the night.
Well its 2014 and Mason is now five. He attends Campsie View, a special needs primary school and enjoys life to the full.
Due to the heart wrenching events of November 2011, Mason was categorised as a "life limited Child". At this difficult time Mason was intruduced to Robin House, a self funded Children's Hospice in Balloch. Robin House can only be described as an amazing place to be part of. The support that they give to families with life limited children is truly remarkable. It allows them to visit and spend relaxing quality time, as families away from the daily strains and stresses that they can experience looking after their special angels. I cannot praise Robin House and all of the staff enough, who may I add are mostly volunteers.
As a big thank you for the help and support that they have given to Mason and my Family, I have decided to take part in the above mentioned events. Hopefully with all your help we can raise some well needed funds for this great charity.
Every donation will make a huge difference no matter what the amount, so please give generously and help spread the word by sharing my page with all your friends and families.
I will be re-posting my page with updates of my progress frequently and hopefully with photos of me crossing the finishing lines of all six events.
May I say in advance to all of you, thank you for taking the time to visit my page and donating.
