Story
I will be running the London Marathon!
I will be running for "Fight for Sight's Tommy Salisbury Fund". Tommy is the son of a family friend and at the age of 4 was diagnosed with a rare eye condition called Choroideremia. This condition starts off with night blindness, not being able to see at night or when its dark in late teens and continues to deteriorate until total blindness around 40 years of age. Tommy's parents Emma & Paul set up the Tommy Salisbury Fund within the charity Fight for Sight and have been raising money since he was diagnosed to fund vital research into finding a treatment to stop the progression and save Tommy's sight. Currently they have raised £640,000 and because of this money the first worldwide clinical trial for a treatment started in 2011, which has had great results from all who have been lucky enough to have the gene therapy treatment in one eye.
I want to help them continue to change the future for Tommy and other sufferers of Choroideremia. I know that I will do anything I could and I am proud to be running for such a wonderful cause.
Your donation means so much to me and to my chosen charity; Fight for Sight.
