We provide vital specialist services to people living with multiple disabilities

Story

Welcome to my JustGiving page and thank you for taking the time to visit and read it.

I originally had the idea of doing a triathlon in memory of my sister Rianna whilst on my year abroad as it was 5 years since she passed away and I felt that I had reached a good point along my journey with grief. I signed up to the Salou Triathlon in March 2020 which was unfortunately but understandably cancelled due to the pandemic. I'll be adding all the money I raised first time round as an offline donation to this fundraiser.

Since last September, I have been training with Oxford Tri Club and taken part/signed up to some running and shorter distance triathlons. On 7th August, I will be taking on a 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km run around London's iconic landmarks to raise money and awareness for Parity.

This charity which is very close to my heart enables young people with multiple disabilities to experience and enjoy activities which other young people take for granted. It also helps to relieve the pressure and emotional strain on family members who take on the majority of care responsibilities.

Parity runs three specialist day centres and a holiday activity scheme in the Farnborough area which my family and particularly my sister Rianna benefited from. State funding for disabled young adults is limited and has been reduced significantly in recent years so Parity depends on its charity shops and fundraising donations to supplement its income. Your money will enable more disabled young people and their families to access the amazing support and services.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated both by myself and Parity for Disability.
