The Wimbledon Village Stables Sponsored Horse Ride takes place on two days this year - Sunday 24th October and Tuesday 26th October.  The ten mile ride follows a trail around Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park.
Carol and Caroline, owners of Wimbledon Village Stables, have organised this very special charity event for the last 35 years. The very first ride in 1975 raised £550 and over the years the Ride has raised over £500,000 in total providing much needed funds for many deserving charities.  They have chosen to support the Royal Marsden again this year because Caroline's mother had  received exceptional treatment at the hospital for 8 years until she sadly passed away earlier this year.  Cancer is an illness that affects so many of us, our families or our friends.
The Royal Marsden Hospital develops a positive partnership with patients to help them deal with their cancer.  Through this, patients not only receive the latest  treatments, but also rehabilitation and assistance at all levels.  Every effort is made to enable patients to carry on normal activities as far as possible and to maximise their quality of life. The Royal Marsden Hospital is a supportive environment in which information, communication and the care provided are focused on the needs of each individual patient and their family.
