Story
On the 4th December 2013 my little sister Leah was diagnosed with a brain tumour called Medullablastoma, after 4 operations and numerous set backs Leah kept smiling her way through 9 months chemotherapy.
At the end of October 2014 we heard the news that we had been wanting to hear - Leah had beaten Cancer. We had a great couple of months and the best Christmas ever. The time soon passed and before we knew it Leah's first re scan and check up was upon us. This is when our lives changed yet again! We were given the devastating news that the tumour had grown back. Leah has under gone more chemotherapy as well as a 6 week course of radiotherapy followed by another 6 months of chemotherapy which she completed in December 2015. We started 2016 with the great news that yet again Leah had beaten cancer. Leah has now been clear for 8 years but she has been left with long term side effects from mobility issues, learning difficulties and hearing loss. Leah continues to smile her way through most of her days while learning how to cope with her difficulties.
I am hoping that one day we will find a cure so that no more children have to go through what my little sister has.
