Fundraising for Youth Action Wiltshire
I started attending Youth Action Wiltshire (YAW) activities when I was 8 (that's 11 years ago!), taking part in their young carers group for about 3 years. Then when I was 11 I moved on over to Splash. YAW has been an important part of my life, supporting me with the extra challenges I have faced through my Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia while caring for a member of my family. Because of these challenges I struggled at School and was often in trouble.
YAW activities have helped improve myself self esteem, confidence and team work through the numerous leadership programs, activity workshops and fun activities I have been invited to. These have included learning to be a firefighter with the Salamander program and sailing across the south coast in a 72 foot Challenger yacht. This has lead to me believing in myself and my abilities and I'm now studying at University.
In 2017 I became a volunteer for YAW and I hope that with my experience I can help the next generation of young people. I want to support others so that they can experience the same opportunities as I have received, and help develop their confidence. That is why I encourage you to donate to help provide young people with these amazing opportunities .
