Story
As you all know as a family we try to do a fundraising event to help MS charities at least once a year... last year we didn’t manage any fundraising and so I would like to do something this year ASAP because so many charities have missed out on so much fundraising in 2020.
After shielding for what feels like an eternity, I have lost a lot of strength and mobility due to not doing things and so a good friend has lent me an exercise bike to try and build myself back up so I can return to work when I’m allowed and be fit and well!
The London to Paris bike ride is 275 miles and takes 4 days to do.... well... obviously that’s not possible for me... So I am going to try and do my own version of this to raise money for MS research.. because with enough money for vital research... there one day might even be a cure.
I am aiming to cycle from London to Paris in the month of January (from my lounge!) 😬 I know that doesn’t seem like a huge challenge to some but to me it will be... for those who don’t know much about MS, any physical exercise that raises the body temperature has a huge impact on my mobility and the more I do and the hotter I get, the more my body will give up and not work and I have to rest to gain the strength back again... so this will be a challenge but I will pace myself and make sure I’m by a soft landing when I dismount each time!! 😂 I won’t physically be able to cycle every day so I’m hoping in a month I will be able to manage the distance ! 🤞🏻
So wish me luck and please share my fundraising page to raise as much as possible for this wonderful charity.
MS Research-
We need your help to get back to research. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic our research projects have had to be put on hold. We urgently need your help to get them back on track so we can get back to improving multiple sclerosis (MS) treatment and work towards finding a cure. The economic difficulties brought on through the Covid-19 pandemic is being felt across the UK and the charity sector is no exception, but at MS Research we remain dedicated to furthering our understanding of MS and developing better treatments to improve the lives of those living with MS. We need your help to do this.
