Story
Surprised??! You're not alone in that! On hearing about my challenge a dear friend of mine rightly said that I was the last person she ever imagined taking on Kilimanjaro!
So why in 'my second spring' am I doing something so physically and mentally challenging?
It's simple, I believe passionately that education has the power to transform lives, and that all children should have the opportunity to go to school!
Rafiki Thabo enable young people in Kenya, Uganda and Lesotho, including those living with disabilities, to be empowered through education, allowing them to reach their full potential and initiate positive change in their local communities.
Reality: One year at secondary school for one child in Uganda costs 2/3 of the average annual household income... An impossibility for most families, leaving children out of school and trapped in the poverty cycle.
I would love your kind support to raise £1,750 which will pay for the entire 5-year secondary education for one child and give them the best chance of a brighter future.
This is a huge ask, but please know that even the smallest donation makes a massive difference! With only £8 a child will receive a daily nutritious school meal for one month, enabling them to concentrate on their school work!
Thank you so much for any support you feel able to give!
PS I am self-funding, all donations go to Rafiki Thabo!
PS2 It seems JG adds an automatic voluntary contribution to them when you donate. Please know that you can set this to £0 in the box below the sliding scale!
