When I lost my Mum I felt pretty helpless, I decided to do something positive as she would have expected me too ….. I ran my first half marathon and called it “Tina’s Run” …. so in March it will be No 4. It would mean the world if you could even donate just a pound to this amazing charity, between Taylor and I we have raised £2500 for Trinity and Rosemere, now it’s time to do something for research. As most of you know I only generally run for the train, last orders or at the away end 💚😂😂😂 so I will be giving this everything I've got, plus I have the added challenge of this being my 50th year and I’m not the machine I once was !!! I’m not going for a time just to reach the end before they start packing up the barriers and all the t shirts have gone 😂😂😂 Ok so here's the tough part, losing someone you love to Cancer is a pain worse than anything physical or imagineable, the first words completely tear your world apart, then you have to watch, and keep watching this monster take your Mum away and there isnt a single  thing you can do to stop it. The ripple effect this has on the world around them is immense, cancer not only spreads physically but emotionally too breaking hearts in every possible place it can reach out to. From the very first moment my Mum told me she would "win it" and my Mum, Tina Pollard fought with a lions heart every step of the way, she never complained when Cancer took her hair away or burnt her skin or made her so dreadfully sick, she skipped down that corridor with the nurses on the way to surgery for her 7 hour brain operation and I can still see her now turning back giggling and saying ill "win it" Janeeeen!! Mum was dignified until the very, very end and the one thing she never stopped doing was smile, it's took me weeks to prepare this page, I've written poems and borrowed poems but nothing worked, I know why, because my Mum doesn't want me to talk about the sad things. She's fought all her life, I'm not going to pretend it's been a bed of roses, but that last year , it gave us a lifetime of memories, fun, giggling till our tummies hurt and our mascara ran, it brought back memories of a beautiful childhood Mum and I both shared when life was filled with a thousand butterflies, the aroma of Impulse and cigarettes, only Mum could make that smell sweet, the beautiful days at Plymbrige and Mum sunbathing in Olive Oil and tin foil!!! My Mum was a Queen and I want to keep her memory alive, she is an inspiration to us all and is loved more than I could every put into words....I'd give anything for just a moment or for her to answer the phone 💕💕💕

WHAT WILL MATTER

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.

There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.

What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident.
It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
