Why am I doing it?
As with a lot of people, New Year’s Eve brings new resolutions. A new year, a new me. A fitter me. But, by the middle of January, most people best intentions don’t quite meet their expectations and I didn’t want to fall into this trap. I wanted a challenge that was going to take me out of my comfort zone and keep me accountable to maintaining that new year resolution. Cycling 450 miles with a 20 week training program was an achievable goal with a timeline. I also wanted to do my part to support such a wonderful charity.
What do I hope to get out of it?
When I read previous statements from other people who have done the ride in previous years, they all remarked on what an incredible & unique experience it was for them to ride alongside such inspiring individuals, as well as forming life-long friends. I hope to gain some wonderful memories and, observe for myself, how the support given by the fundraisers can change lives.
