Story

You may have seen the film I, Daniel Blake where people are clinging to their homes against all odds in the face of hardship and poverty. The film alone is enough to take action.

A days after I saw the film, I tried to report an incident of homelessness. There was no information on how I did this. I was outside County Durham so did not have a route in. I know Joe who works for DePaul and he took the details, looked out for the guys and asked questions about reporting information.

At the coldest time of the year, would you want to be on the street? A series of bad luck and difficult issues to deal with means this could happen to anyone.

So we're doing a sponsored sleep out in Durham Cathedral to raise awareness and funds for the charity.  Please sponsor me!

All money goes to DePaul to provide emergency accommodation for people who are homeless.
