Story
Here we go again....
I am taking part in Ironman Wales on 11 September. This is a brand new race on the Ironman circuit and one I just had to do as it lands on what would have been my Mums birthday. I lost my Mum nearly 4 years ago now and still miss her terribly and I am doing this race in memory of her. The Ironman Wales course is extremely tough. Something I didn't know when I signed up for it! The 2.4 mile swim, which is my strongest discipline is tough if the wind and rip tides kick in. The 112 mile bike has around 6500 feet of climbing and the 4 loop 26.2 mile run course isn't flat either! All in all, this is going to be one hard and long day.
I have decided to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society as dementia is a terrible condition on both the person and the family involved. I believe my Mum was suffering with the condition and it is just heartbreaking to see someone you love so much struggling with the simplest of things like making a cup of tea - or remembering who you are!
Thank you for for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. If you can help me to raise funds for this worthwhile cause then I would really appreciate it, regardless of how small (although big would be good) a donation you give.
