Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well, we did it! 7 Hours and 43 minutes. We were a bit worried about the torrential rain before the start and it was windy and horrible on the top of Arthur's Seat. But once we got into the shelter of the streets again, the rain stopped and on we went. Many thanks to Colin and Marina for the tea, coffee and stovies at various points of the route and to all the helpers and volunteers. Unlike running events, we were moving slowly enough coming up to the finish to appreciate the crowd cheering us on. I've a couple of massive blisters (see the photo above) but these are healing nicely.
Karen, Robert and I hope to do it in under eight hours this year and to raise more than the minimum amount. We are fit and in training this year and are very mindful of what a priviledge it is to be healthy and well. My aunt died of breast cancer when I was five but, more recently, friends have survived this disease and I would like to help make sure that more friends, family and people in general survive breast cancer.
