Paul and I will be taking part in a pyjama themed zip wire ride at one of Liverpool's most historic sites to raise money for The Walton Centre's Home from Home Appeal.
We do this in memory of my beautiful Sister Joanne Dixon who was suddenly taken from us on 21-5-14 following a brain aneurysm.
Any money raised won't bring my sister back to us, but it might just help someone else in the future.
The Zip for Walton takes place on Sunday 28th September from top of the famous Port of Liverpool Building, offering a thrilling slide from the 220ft tall structure across the Pier Head to the river front. Our zip is timed to be between 10:30 and 11:30.
The event is part of the Trust's Great British JimJam, which is all about raising funds in nightwear, and so we are encouraged to wear our pyjamas or onesies!
There is also a serious reason why we are wearing pyjamas as it reflects the experience of families who have to snatch sleep in the visitors' rooms while their loved ones are fighting for their lives in Intensive Care.
The appeal will build eight ensuite bedrooms with living room, kitchen and laundry facilities, as a home from home for relatives of seriously ill patients.
Last year more than 160 people took part in the trust's first Zip for Walton which was a huge success and helped rasied more than £15,000.
It is going to be amazing, stepping off the roof to zip over the Pier Head! Though I am scared of heights so?!?
We would like to thank you in advance for anything you are able to contribute to this appeal and also thank those who have already helped us reach the current total of £5924 in Joanne's name x
