Whocares?scotland is a charity set up to support and advocate on behalf of children and young people Looked After by the Local Authority.

In November 2009 over 20 young people with care experience and supportive adults (that's me!) trekked through the Annapurna region of Nepal. The trek was physically and mentally challenging and proved the trip of a lifetime for everyone involved.

While in Nepal we visited a school in the village of Chiti Tilihar. 800 children attend the school with some walking for more than 2 hrs each way! The school had very few resourses and no running water. As a result of our visit Whocares?scotland pledged £6000 to provide a clean water supply and toilet block to the school. The work is due to begin in October this year. In November some of the young people involved in last years trek and a few supportive adults (me again!) are heading back to Nepal to help with the water project. We plan to dig trenches, paint and tile the toilet block and do anything else necessary to ensure the children have running water in their school.

So, once again, I'm back on the fundraising trail! Any contribution you can make towards our fundraising efforts will be hugely appreciated. Your support will enable our young people in Scotland to provide a clean water supply to the children in Nepal. How fantastic!
