So, here I am doing it again.... I have trekked the Great Wall of China and am now braving the cold by trekking in Iceland!

During 15^th – 20^th July 10, I am taking part in a Trek through Iceland. The trek is based on Ice, Rock and Fire involving 4 days of challenging trekking over 68km and camping out under canvas in the elements, through magnificent natural wildness. I’ll have to take my thermals and hat as overnight temperatures may drop to 0 degrees, and I’ll also need to take my eye mask as there will be 22 hours of daylight – I’m sure I’ll look very fetching !!!!

There’ll be lots of new challenges to contend with, the cold and changeable weather, putting up and taking down my tent in the morning and evening, cooking and washing up ... oh, and did I mention the freezing cold icy river crossings ???

Once again, I will be supporting the Essex Air Ambulance – the helicopter emergency medical service for Essex. It receives no National Lottery funding so relies solely on the generosity of people and businesses in Essex. The Charity is hoping to raise around £30,000 from this trek which will go towards keeping the helicopter flying which will help save many lives !!!
