Story

Hello Facebook Friends & Family:

I wish I could adequately convey to you the sense of helplessness, pain and uncertainty you feel when a loved one is going through the ravages of a substance addiction.  Our family's story involved the misuse of a commonly prescribed ADHD medication called Adderall.  It is an amphetimine and highly addictive.  Running out of pills before refill time, staying up all night, paranoia, and not functioning well as an employee or a parent were all signs that the addiction was reeling out of control.  Rock bottom came with some consequences that were hard to accept and manage but LRADAC, with their counseling services, helped us through a very dark time.  This disease (and it is a disease) is not discriminatory.  But, there is hope for everyone through prevention and treatment programs with LRADAC to support recovery.

Each year, we celebrate National Recovery Month in September.  This year for the very first time ever, we are hosting a Rock for Recovery benefit concert at Central Energy, the new venue in the Bull Street District in downtown Columbia.  It's really shaping up to be a fun-filled night with some very well know entertainment featured.  Sister Hazel is the headliner band with a Journey Tribute Band called Departure (more my genre), Jim Sonefield (drummer from Hootie and the Blowfish) doing an acoustic set and an impressive local band called Unisoghn.  AND it's on my birthday, September 26.  I can't think of a better way to celebrate than by raising funds for the LRADAC Foundation.  Come sing, dance and let out your inner Rock Star, all in support of the LRADAC's Recovery Scholarship Fund.   If you would like to attend this benefit concert, you can buy your tickets at the link below for $40 each - well worth it!

At the concert, there will be an auction of rocking chairs painted by local artists as well as some other desirable items to bid on.  T-shirts will be available for sale.  Food and mocktails are also included with your ticket purchase.  The LRADAC Foundation is working hard to make this a night to remember!

Our efforts raise awareness that people can recover from alcohol and drug/substance use disorders.  Families are healing and babies are being born to drug free moms, thanks to LRADAC. Please help by making a donation through my page or actually buying tickets and joining us for the concert. The process is fast, easy and secure.  Please know that you are helping someone live to see tomorrow.

Thank you!
