I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2013. Since then I have had 2 operations, a lumpectomy and lymph node removal. I will have the last of 6 chemotherapy treatments on July 24 which will be followed by 3 weeks of radiotherapy in September. I have remained very positive throughout the whole, very unpleasant, experience and now want to give something back to the system by taking part in the Dales Rider for Yorkshire Cancer Research. My challenge is to complete the 65 mile Gear Grinder event on Sunday 1st September and your challenge is to sponsor me. The bike ride, from Ilkley to Masham and back will be 5 weeks after the end of chemotherapy so I hope to be feeling a little better than I have been. I will be nowhere near my usual level of fitness and as my longest ever day ride is 80 mile, this 65 miler will be difficult, so please sponsor me.
