Story
The last year has been pretty tough going for everyone; me included.
Those who know me well, know that I really loathe cycling, running comes a pretty close second in the misery stakes, rowing is something I haven't done much of (lets face it, co-ordination isn't my thing), swimming caused most of my teenage injuries. Going for a walk in the wild has been my salvation this last year - but I really don't do towns and cities!
So in order to to extract maximum money from your pockets, I have pledged 175 miles :-
- 100 miles cycling (gym bike) + 30 miles walking around Blackley at lunchtime in April
- 21 miles of swimming in May
- 21 miles of rowing in June
- Topped off with a 5k run by June 9th (my 50th Birthday)
Some days are good days, other days aren't but it is OK to not be OK, and it is really important to look for help and support before you feel overwhelmed.
But we shouldn't underestimate the impact of boredom and loneliness particularly for the youngest and oldest people in our communities.
Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
