Janet and Glynis leave for China this Saturday (12 September). We'll keep you posted on their progress. Good luck ladies!
They're only £500 away now from their target - please help them to achieve this!
Henshaws supporters Mike and Janet Salt, who are both visually impaired, planned to be the first VI couple to walk the Great Wall of China.
Janet said back in 2007 when the trip was first planned: “Usually it’s people without a disability taking part to raise money, but we want to be the ones doing the giving for a change.” Sadly, Mike passed away in January - but Janet is determined to complete the trek in his name, raise vital funds for Henshaws and be the first deaf blind woman to undertake the challenge.Accompanying her will be Glynis Howard, Henshaws Rehabilitation Manager, who will guide Janet on the trek. Providing of course, that Glynis is fit enough to keep up with her - Janet made a name for herself in the world of water skiing as disabled world champion and world record holder in her class!
If you have been inspired by Janet’s story, please give whatever you can afford.
