Along with Alison (pictured above), I have now completed the Race for Life in memory of our very dear friend, Andrea Allcock, who lost her battle with cancer on 5th July 2013. Andrea was such a special person and should not have been taken from her family and friends at the age of 50. Andrea lives on in our hearts and we will always have our memories of happy times with her, filled with love and laughter.

I am also remembering others close to me who have lost their lives to cancer: Dad, Aunty Freda, Ron (father-in-law), Donna, Lynda & Lawrence.

The race went well and the weather was kind to us - despite my plan to walk the course, Alison cracked the whip and we ran quite a lot of the way, finishing in 1 hour 17 minutes! Thank you Alison for encouraging me all the way to the finish!

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create a force that cancer can't ignore.
