Story

I am part of 'Parkies Angels' who are a group of people that have set themselves the challenge of undertaking a 10,000 foot tandem sky dive to raise money to help make a difference to the lives of those living with Parkinson's. I am completely petrified of doing this but I am going to try and actually enjoy the experience of falling at 120mph through the clouds because this is all to raise money for a REALLY GOOD CAUSE! Please help me do this.

Parkinson's can be a truly debilitating disease and it needs money to help support those living with it. Parkinson's disease is a condition that affects the brain. It causes problems like shaking and stiffness that get worse over time and can affect people of all ages.

Parkinson’s Care and Support UK (PCSUK) is a UK based charity that focuses on improving the lives of those affected by Parkinson’s. They offer face to face help, occupational therapy, CBT to help those suffering from depression through having this disease. They organise events that help reduce the isolation sometimes caused by Parkinson's and they are driven by positivity and by understanding that we can improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Their work DIRECTLY improves the quality of life of people affected by Parkinson’s today. They also actively invest in funding alternative, non-pharmaceutical research into how we can slow down, reverse or even prevent the onset of Parkinson’s, we are mindful that thousands of people living with the condition need real support today.

World Parkinson’s Day is 11th April 2022.
