Story
Thank you for visiting our page. On 18 September at 3 am, we will start climbing Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales and England. We should reach the summit at 1085m by sunrise. Please help us raise funds for the Trussell Trust as we take on this challenge!
The Trussell Trust supports a UK wide network of over 1300 food bank centres. These centres distribute emergency food and other supplies to those in poverty and financial crisis. The charity also offers tailored support through income advice, benefit support and a whole host of other services to help people lift themselves out of poverty. Its campaign, policy and research teams also work tirelessly to end the need to food banks in the UK.
This trek and the Trussell Trust's 2-year partnership with Bank of America will support the Trussell Trust's work in two ways:
Helping people access emergency food
Funds will help support the Trussell Trust's central Operations team to provide daily support to the food banks including governance, logistics, food supply, training and strategic planning.
Practical help to lift people out of poverty
Funds will also finance grants to local food banks to increase provision of financial resilience, income advice and welfare support as a practical solution to help lift people out of poverty.
A newly established Helpline which helps people in crisis access to emergency food and financial advice to increase their income will also be funded.
