My wonderful husband and soul mate for over 39 years, John, was diagnosed with stage 4 aggressive bladder cancer on 14th September 2020 (aged 61). It spread to his pelvic bone and subsequently metastasised to his brain. After several operations, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and currently ongoing immunotherapy, I am delighted to say that he is not only still with us (!) but is going from strength to strength. Long may that continue.
'Living with cancer' is very difficult for John's nearest and dearest too. Mountbatten have already helped me to cope, with personal counselling, and we know that they are there for John now, if he needs them, and ultimately will be there for his end of life care (which will not be for a long time yet!).
The staff and volunteers there do an amazing, but very challenging, job and I wanted to do something that will be very challenging for me in order to raise much needed funds for them.
I am slightly terrified of doing this skydive - and will probably scream the whole way down! - but it will be so worthwhile if I am able to raise monies for Mountbatten by taking part in this challenge.
Please support this very worthwhile cause by being as generous as you can afford to be (every single £1 counts).
Thank you all in advance.
Janet xx
