Intensive care staff at The James Cook University Hospital are appealing for the public to help them create a dedicated outdoor space for their critically ill patients.

Story

Steven spent a gruelling 14 weeks in critical care at the height of the pandemic last year.He has a degenerative muscle wasting condition which made recovery even more difficult. When family were allowed to visit him he was wheeled out to the car park-not the nicest environment for the feel good factor, but even so he was over the moon to be reunited (especially with his dog). Now that he is back to his best he has decided he wants to help to get the new garden ready for other patients.

He will be walking down the farm road which is tarmac but rough and on a slope. If he walks as far as he can on each outing he will have to do the walk twice a day to reach his 10 mile goal.

He also wanted to thank the staff ......especially the most amazing ,brilliant and best team of physios in all the world.
