We care for unwanted cats and rabbits to help them find their forever homes.

Story

As you may know, I am a volunteer at the Society for Abandoned Animals & try to visit on a weekly basis to give Reiki energy healing to the cats who are awaiting re-homing or who have just come into the sanctuary.

It was through this that I got one of my cats Gus last October.  He & his sister had come to the SAA because their owners had taken the to the vets to be euthanaised - he was just 7 mths old!  Unfortunately I can't take on any more cats (now having 3!) so doing a fundraising event seemed like a great way to help this wonderful, local charity.

Currently the SAA are undertaking fundraisng for £80k to enable them to convert existing buildings to an 18 pen re-homing facility for cats and a 9 pen quarantine area too.  This will mean so many more abandoned cats will get good care until they like my Gus get their forever home.

I am raising money by taking part in an organised Ghost Hunt at Ordsall Hall, Salford (which is reported to be very haunted!) on Saturday 19th October.  I will be there from 9pm to 1am with a group of fellow fundraisers & members of the Lancashire Supernatural Investigators.  There will be seances, mediums & no doubt things that go bump in the night but I will be keeping an open mind to any events.

Established in the 1960s, the SAA takes in unwanted and abandoned cats and rabbits. All the animals are micro-chipped, neutered and vaccinated, and the SAA never puts a healthy animal down. The animals are given food, shelter and veterinary care, until loving new homes are found.
