Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My friends and I have again joined the race to beat breast cancer by taking part in the Bupa Great North Run.
I decided to join Breast Cancer Campaign’s Jigsaw Runners team for this race in Newcastle on Sunday 19th September. My motovation is that several family members and close friends have been subjected to breast cancer. My mum sadly died from the disease in 1981, aged just 52. My sister Cath,Step mum Rose and friend Anne have all been affected by this dreadful disease. More recently, my friend Alison sadly passed away from breast cancer in 2009.
This year I am running with two close friends Karen and Kevin who are really supportive as my sister Cath is unable to run this year. We desperately need to find a cure for this disease. Running for this cause and raising money means that every step we take will help bring us closer to achieving our goal.
This is the fith consecutive year that I will be taking part in the Great North Run and combined with other fund-raising activities, Cath and I have raised a staggering £11,500 for Breast Cancer Campaign so far.
To help me reach my target this year of £800 please donate what you can. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
