Getting to the Tokyo Marathon has been a long haul from receiving a place back in 2021 to the many weeks of training and finally arriving in the city.  And that's when the preparation really began with checking and reporting our temperature daily for a period of seven days and two Covid test two days before race day. However Tokyo delivered a very organised event and scary as it was I made it to the finish line in 3 hours 46 minutes of course I am thrilled with that result. It was a tough race especially the last 6 miles when I had to dig deep to get to the finish. But this is what sponsorship is about I thought of your generosity and the many lives that Emerge is able to support with the money raised. 2nd March 2023

Two days to race day: Feels very surreal to be here in Tokyo with just two days to race day. Did my final run this Morning (Thursday) picked up my running number from Expo with is an hour away on the metro but a great opportunity to meet up with other runners. The next few days will be mostly resting although I will be visiting the start to work out exactly where to go and how long it takes to get to get there. We are separated in corrals, and I am in D amongst those of a similar pace. It's quite nerve racking but I feel calm and ready to go. I am very grateful for all the messages of support, and I know many of you are praying and routing for me.  With just two days to go it's not too late to sponsor me if you can.

18th February 2023

The dark morning's of training is over at last. The snow the frost, the rain it's been interesting journey to say the least.  With the training is done, all I have to do now is taper (keep running shorter distances) until race day. I am very excited but petrified,, the instructions from the organisers so far has been overwhelming and I am praying that I will find myself on the start line on race day. Thank you so much for sponsoring me. Emerge Advocacy is an amazing charity and I know they are extremely grateful for the support and I so need the encouragement. Training this week  It's been great running in much better weather conditions this week. Managed to do the 5k time trail on Tuesday with the Datchet Dashers in a much improved time compared to December 2022. So the training is working and I am starting to feel Marathon ready. Although there is still a lot more to do before race day. Your support is much appreciated.
