Story
Following the passing of Jane the family wanted to tell you about a type of cause that we feel best allows Jane’s passion in life to continue to flourish and to continue to be a true blessing to children.
Jane always had a determination for teaching children the basic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic and spent many hours teaching her children as soon as she could. By the age of 3 all her children could read, write, do their multiplication tables and even tie their shoe laces. Over and above the invaluable head start that Jane gave all her children there was a more wonderful gift: a passion for reading, learning and eventually teaching.
There are hundreds of young children, like her own, whose lives have been gifted by her passion: especially those who struggled at first or had special needs, because of her sheer determination and extraordinary patience with them, learned to read despite all the odds and were able to continue with their education at the same pace as their peers.
There are many charities that support the ethos set down by Jane but the following one really fit the criteria across a wide spectrum:
Commonwealth Girls’ Education Fund
The CGEF helps girls to complete their secondary or high school education in their own Commonwealth country in cases where, for economic reasons, this might not otherwise be possible.
